I know firsthand how challenging graduate school and academic career pathways can be for first-generation, BIPOC, and historically excluded students and professionals. That’s why I offer consulting, coaching, and retreat services grounded in sustainable productivity, executive functioning, and values-aligned success.
One-on-one Consulting
Navigating graduate school and fellowship applications can feel overwhelming, especially for first-generation students. Through my one-on-one consulting, clients consistently gain clarity, confidence, and a concrete plan for moving forward. I provide personalized, non-judgmental guidance on essays, interviews, and application strategy, helping you or your students articulate an authentic story, strengthen writing and critical thinking skills, and submit compelling, aligned applications while feeling prepared, supported, and capable throughout the process.
one-on-one coaching
As a first-gen Chicana with a PhD, award-winning podcaster, author, and national speaker, I bring lived experience and over a decade of professional expertise to my one-on-one coaching. Clients consistently describe feeling seen and supported while gaining clarity, confidence, and structure. Together, we focus on executive functioning, sustainable productivity, and values-aligned decision-making, helping you move out of freeze and false urgency, build systems that fit your life, and make steady, meaningful progress on dissertations, careers, and other long-term goals.
Group Coaching
The Grad Empowerment Coaching Circle (GECC) is a small-group coaching program for first-gen BIPOC graduate students and professionals working on long-term projects. This program supports you in building sustainable structure for projects like dissertations, manuscripts, and career transitions. You’ll clarify your priorities, design systems that fit your circumstances, strengthen accountability and follow-through, and make steady sustainable progress.
RETREATS
Accountability and Writing Retreats are immersive, facilitated experiences for first-generation students and professionals working on focused academic and professional goals. Retreats are customized to support undergraduates preparing graduate school applications or graduate students advancing dissertations, manuscripts, and other long-term writing projects. You’ll receive a workshop, structured work time, guided accountability, and a digital workbook to clarify priorities, reduce overwhelm, and make meaningful progress in community.
